Inside the name of Jesus, there is restoration power.
As a pastor called to the ministry of soul restoration for over 25 years, I have stood before congregations large and small—from intimate gatherings to crowds exceeding 200,000 souls hungry for the living Word—and witnessed the undeniable power that flows when we invoke the name of Jesus. There is a divine authority in that name, a power that breaks chains, heals the brokenhearted, and draws wandering hearts back to the Shepherd. Today, I declare to you with the conviction born of Scripture and experience: Inside the name of Jesus, there is power—power to save, to heal, to deliver, and to transform.
Beloved, consider the Scriptures that reveal this exalted name. God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11). And again, the mighty power toward us who believe is the same as the surpassing greatness He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion (Ephesians 1:19-21). Do you see it? Jesus sits enthroned above every force that opposes you—sickness, despair, bondage, fear. His name commands them to flee.
Think of the demon-possessed man in the region of the Gadarenes, a soul so tormented he lived among the tombs, breaking chains as if they were thread, crying out night and day. No one could bind him; no one could tame him. Yet when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell at His feet. The legions within him cried out, but Jesus spoke one word of authority, and the man was set free—clothed, in his right mind, sitting at the Master's feet. What human power could not achieve, the name of Jesus accomplished in an instant. Have you a legion tormenting you today? Call on that name.
I have seen this power at work. Like the brother who, through persistent prayer in Jesus' name, overcame barriers to complete his studies—a testimony of provision and breakthrough. Or the countless souls delivered from madness, addiction, and despair, restored to wholeness because someone dared to pray with faith: "In the name of Jesus, be healed; be free; be saved."
Why does this name carry such authority? Because Jesus earned it through perfect obedience, even to death on the cross. He triumphed over principalities and powers, making a public spectacle of them (Colossians 2:15). And now, He has given us—yes, you and me—the privilege to use His name. Whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13). It is not a formula; it is faith in the Person behind the name.
Yet many live as if powerless, begging for scraps when heaven's storehouse stands open. Why? Because we forget to invoke the name. We pray vaguely, without boldness. But when we pray in Jesus' name—with faith, aligned with His will—mountains move, doors open, miracles unfold.
What holds you captive today? Sickness in your body? Broken relationships? Financial lack? Spiritual dryness? Hear me: There is power—wonder-working power—in the precious name of Jesus. Speak it over your situation. Declare it in prayer. Use it as your weapon, for it is the name above every other name.
Let us pray now, collectively, as the early church did. If you need healing, breakthrough, salvation for a loved one—lift it now in Jesus' name. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
May the Lord bless you and keep you, until we meet at His feet. Amen.
